I am currently addicted to my Misfit Shine fitness tracker.
Of all the things to be addicted to, this is a great one!
My Misfit device keeps track of my fitness goals, daily steps as well as weekly or monthly totals. It also tracks my sleep patterns so I can set sleep goals and distinguish between light and restful sleep. I’m obsessed with achieving my full circle of glowing rings and can’t get enough of increasing my goals as I hit them. With warmer days on the way, this addiction is only going to increase!
It’s incredibly motivating to see your fitness progress throughout the day and even more motivating to begin to meet those goals. There’s even a streak function that tells you how many days in a row you have met your goal, which can give you that extra push to keep going! I’ve met my goal 45 times so far and had a streak of 7 days!
Wearable tech has certainly come a long way over the past few years and each company continues to develop their look, interface and tracking ability. There’s a long list of other fitness tracking companies including Fitbit, Jawbone and Garmin. I chose Misfit over other brands because it’s waterproof! This means I can take it along in the pool and even track the exercise I get while swimming.
If you’re interested at all in your fitness and health and you’re also interested in the details behind your lifestyle, a tracker of any kind is the way to go. Do your research to figure out what features are the most important to you. Learn more.
Whether you’re into it or not, wearable tech is only becoming more popular. With added functions, accuracy and ways to connect into your everyday life, these devices are on the rise!
I pair my misfit app with Runkeeper, an app that uses GPS to track your run by distance, duration and average speed. It’s great for planning a route and comparing your success.
I use the PumpUp app to track each week’s workouts. The app comes fully furnished with custom workouts that you create based on the time you have, the equipment available and your focus area.
