Director, Public Relations and Event Strategy Samareh is a passionate and motivated leader. She mixes innovation and energy with a proven track record in the public relations field. A master of communication with an impressive sense for entrepreneurship, Samareh deals with some of the most high-profile businesses and individuals in Waterloo Region and beyond. She works with companies developing brand awareness, social influence and positive public image. Educated at the University of Guelph, with a focus in Creative Writing and Stage Management, Samareh brings a wide range of experience to Durrell Communications. With tenure at some of Canada’s top arts and cultural organization such as TIFF, Stratford Festival, Drayton Entertainment and THEMUSEUM, her wealth of knowledge and experience in strategic marketing, communications and events is tough to match.
Manager, Strategic Communications Geena is a confident leader and an accomplished writer. At Durrell Communications, she coordinates marketing and communications activity to help clients reach their goals through effective strategies and compelling content. With extensive experience in marketing, communications and writing, Geena is passionate about bringing good stories to life. Her past work included working with nonprofits and startups and a freelance career that covered a wide range of topics including construction, manufacturing, technology, health and entertainment. With a Bachelor of Arts (Honours) in English from the University of Waterloo and graduate certification in Marketing, Public Relations and Communications from Conestoga College, Geena ensures clients connect with their audiences with well-planned — and well-written — communications.
Client Success Manager Claire wears many hats at Durrell and has a big part in supporting its clients and helping them grow and succeed. She has many years experience working in communications, event planning and presentation training. She loves to travel, having lived in Québec City, Ann Arbor and Paris. She graduated from Laurier University with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Communications and received a diploma from Sheridan College in Advertising.
Media & Public Relations Strategist Holly brings her journalism training, media relations, and student leadership experience to the Durrell Communications team. She approaches writing the same way she interacts with reporters — by being memorable. Previously assisting with media relations in the public affairs branch at Agriculture and Agri-Food Canada, Holly has a passion for serving others. She enjoys bringing tech, science and business news to life by breaking down technical jargon and creating meaningful connections for readers. Every news story has what she calls an “emotional quota.” She has a diploma in Journalism: Print and Broadcast, and an Honours Bachelor’s degree in Public Relations from Conestoga College.
Content & Media Specialist Rachel executes media strategies while creating engaging social media and blog content for clients at Durrell Communications. Passionate about media, Rachel is determined to help clients reach their strategic goals. Previously assisting with media relations and content at Homer Watson House & Gallery, Rachel is committed to producing top-quality content for clients at Durrell Communications. Rachel has a Bachelor of Arts degree in English from the University of Guelph and a Bachelor of Public Relations (Honours) degree from Conestoga College.
Digital Marketing Strategist Bianca creates and executes digital marketing strategies for clients at Durrell Communications. Passionate about “staying in the know,” Bianca uses her long-time fascination with the power of social media to propel clients towards their highest potential across all platforms. In her previous role assisting with social media at the City of Cambridge, Bianca’s enthusiasm for accelerating social media growth has continued throughout various industries including fintech, health tech, environmental tech and property development. Bianca has a Bachelor of Public Relations (Honours) degree from Conestoga College.
Public Relations & Digital Media Assistant Madison brings her experience in marketing and public relations, media, and events to the Durrell Communications team. She assists with creating communication strategies, managing media relations, and constructing key messages to help clients effectively tell their story and connect with their audiences. Passionate about strategic communications and brand development, Madison uses her strong research skills to build awards plans and develop sponsorship and partnership opportunities to assist clients with their PR efforts. Combining various student leadership roles with a Bachelor of Arts (Business Specialization) degree in Creative Industries, Madison graduated from Ryerson University before pursuing her career in PR and marketing.
