As a team, we work hard to ensure our clients and their amazing initiatives are featured in the news, reaching their target audience and achieving their goals. 

Here are a few of our favourite coverage highlights from 2022: 

  1. Terra View Homes: Holiday meals for frontline workers

    Terra View Homes was recently featured in GuelphToday for providing frontline workers at  Guelph General Hospital with traditional meals on Christmas Eve and Christmas Day. The Terra View Homes team distributed hundreds of meals to workers who spent the holidays working at the hospital.

  2. The Food Bank of Waterloo Region: The current state of food insecurity in Waterloo region

    The Food Bank was featured in many publications in 2022, especially nearing the end of the year as they shed light on the significant rise in food insecurity in the Waterloo region. They were featured in news outlets such as CTV News Kitchener, The Record, the Waterloo Chronicle, the New Hamburg Independent, and Cambridge Today.

  3. YNCU: Motivate2Skate program teaches international students how to skate

    In collaboration with the Soo Wee Pee Arena in Sault St. Marie, YNCU was featured in the media for launching Motivate2Skate. The arena’s doors were opened to international post secondary students to give them free skate lessons. This was an opportunity for international students to enjoy Canadian culture by learning our favourite pastime.

  4. THEMUSEUM: UNZIPPED Rolling Stones Exhibit adds more Canadian stops

    THEMUSEUM was featured in the media frequently after securing the Canadian rights to the UNZIPPED Rolling Stones Exhibit. Kitchener was originally the only Canadian stop for the exhibit’s tour but after a successful run, THEMUSEUM gained the confidence of The Rolling Stones management to extend the tour to other Canadian cities.

The Grove – Grand opening

Durrell Communications oversaw the grand opening of The Grove – University of Guelph’s new youth wellness hub located in Guelph, Ontario. This unique partnership between The Grove and the University of Guelph has facilitated an innovative and evidence-based “one-stop-shop” service hub, which will help to further address the needs of youth related to mental health, community and social services. 

Profound Impact Day

Our client, Profound Impact, hosted their third annual Profound Impact Day on September 14. This year, they unveiled Research Impact, a targeted service that automatically matches grants to researchers. This service replaces manual matching that allows for faster and more accurate grant matching. During the event, Profound Impact also announced their Impactful Actions Award winner, Kehkashan Basu, M.S.M., who is the founder and president of the Green Hope Foundation.

Rae Lipskie Wins a spot on the Globe & Mail ‘Top Wealth Advisors’

We were thrilled when Brian Lipskie and The RaeLipskie Partnership were recognized by The Globe and Mail as one of Canada’s most effective financial advisors across the country, ranking 3rd in all of Ontario. This was an exciting achievement for Durrell Communications as we always prioritize protecting, enhancing, and overseeing our clients’ capital.

We neared the end of the year on a strong note as we were awarded Best Public Relations by Waterloo Region Record Readers’ Choice Awards 2022! We were so happy to be recognized by the local community for our excellence in communications.
